Famous Methods You Can Use

1. The Romans Road

This group of Scriptures are commonly referred to as the Romans Road, which is a glance at the salvation journey we all need to take. It's useful to know so you can share with confidence, in your own way, that Jesus is the answer!

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 10:9–10 "If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved."

Romans 10:13 "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

2. The Hand Method

A Simple Way to Share the Gospel. Sharing your faith doesn't have to be complicated. You can use the five fingers on your hand as a simple memory aid to share the message of the gospel with anyone, at any time. Finish by leading them in the salvation prayer.

The Thumb: Grace (God’s Gift)
The thumb points closest to us, reminding us of God's love. Salvation is a free gift of grace. It cannot be earned or deserved through good deeds.

The Index Finger: Sin (Our Problem)
The pointer finger points out a problem. Every person has sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard. This sin creates a gap and separates us from a holy God.

The Middle Finger: God (His Character)
The tallest finger points upward to God. God is loving and merciful, so He does not want to punish us. However, because He is also perfectly just, He must punish sin.

The Ring Finger: Jesus (The Solution)
The ring finger represents a commitment or covenant. God solved the problem of our sin by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose from the dead.

The Pinky Finger: Faith (Our Response)
The smallest finger reminds us that even a small amount of genuine faith changes everything. To receive God's gift, we must place our trust in Jesus alone for forgiveness and eternal life.

2. The Color Book or The Wordless Book

A Simple Way to Share the Gospel. You can find these tiny books online, or make your own! They are great because it works for all ages. You finish by leading the person in a prayer of repentance and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

Here is what each color represents in the story of faith, along with the foundational scriptures for each step:

🟡 Gold: God and Heaven

The Meaning: The color gold reminds us of the beauty of Heaven and the perfect character of God. God is the creator of everything, He loves us completely, and He desires to have a close relationship with us. In His presence, there is perfect peace and no sadness.

Key Scripture: John 3:16 – "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (See also: Revelation 21:21)

⚫ Black: Sin and Separation

The Meaning: The dark page represents sin—the wrong things we think, say, and do that go against God's perfect standards. The Bible teaches that everyone has sinned. This spiritual darkness creates a barrier that completely separates us from a holy God, and we cannot fix it on our own. To make it plain, this sin that keeps us from eternal life is not accepting Jesus.

Key Scripture: Romans 3:23 – "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (See also: Romans 6:23)

🔴 Red: The Sacrifice of Jesus

The Meaning: The color red stands for the incredible love of Jesus Christ. Because we could not remove our own sin, God sent His Son to earth. Jesus lived a perfect life, willingly died on the cross to pay the full penalty for our wrongs, and rose from the dead to conquer death.

Key Scripture: Romans 5:8 – "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (See also: 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)

⚪ White: Forgiveness and a Clean Heart

The Meaning: The clean white page represents a heart that has been washed clean. When we turn away from our own efforts and place our trust in what Jesus did on the cross, God completely forgives us. The barrier of sin is removed, and we are given a fresh, permanent start with Him. We are made new and become children of God.

Key Scripture: Psalm 51:7 – "Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." (See also: 1 John 1:9)

🟢 Green: Growth and New Life

The Meaning: Green represents living things, like grass and trees, and stands for spiritual growth. Once a person has trusted in Jesus, they begin a new journey of faith. Just like a plant needs water and sunlight, a believer grows closer to God by reading the Bible, praying, and sharing His love with others.

Key Scripture: 2 Peter 3:18 – "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (See also: Colossians 2:6–7)
