GOD IS LOVE. HE LOVES YOU. THIS TRUTH IS THE FOUNDATION OF EVERYTHING.
This is real. God is real, Jesus is who you're looking for! He is your answer. He is your Peace: your Salvation!
Crying out to Him like that is how you receive salvation. It's the prayer of the heart. If you're ready to begin a new life with a new identity in Christ, you can also pray this prayer. It's not a formula, but a simple guide to help you know what's happening:
"God, I come to You with an open heart, acknowledging that I need You. I confess that I have sinned by living for myself. But today, I turn away from my past and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died for my sins, and that He rose again, defeating death.
I accept Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Please come into my heart, and guide me on this new journey of faith. Help me to live a life that honors You and reflects Your love. Thank You for the gift of salvation and for welcoming me into Your family. In Jesus' name. Amen."
That's it! You are re-born! Pause a moment. Then read the next part, God has another gift for you!
Get to know the Holy Spirit and His place in your life as a believer.
God is Triune, one God who exists as three distinct Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Now that you’re part of God's family it's important to know that when Jesus ascended to Heaven, He told His disciples to wait for what the Father promised. This promise was the baptism in the Holy Spirit. He is the One who empowers us to live the christian life in this world and be witnesses of Jesus Christ.
Right now, as a born-again believer the Holy Spirit is living in you. But there’s also a deeper experience, a special infilling called the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Through this baptism, you receive His power, His fire, and His divine empowerment to be a bold witness for Jesus on the earth.
Learn about the promise of the Holy Spirit and pray to receive Him.
With this baptism, you’ll also receive a prayer language, often referred to as "other tongues," which you can use anytime, anywhere, to communicate with God in a new and powerful way! He thought of everything!
Pray this today:
"Father, I thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, and now I ask for the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire. Just as You promised in Your Word, I ask You Lord to fill me with Your Spirit, to empower me for service, and to ignite a holy fire within my soul.
I surrender my heart, mind, and tongue to You, and I ask for the evidence of speaking in tongues as a sign of Your presence and power in my life. Let Your Spirit overflow in me, giving me boldness, wisdom, and the ability to walk in Your gifts. I trust that as I open my mouth in faith, You will fill me with Your words, enabling me to speak in a new heavenly language.
Holy Spirit, take complete control of my life, leading me into all truth and setting me ablaze for the glory of Jesus. I receive this gift now by faith, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen."
Spend some time praying. Then go and share the GOOD NEWS with someone else! Tell them how you've met God and received Jesus as your Savior!
This new life in God's Kingdom is amazing! However, there's some useful things you need to know to help you get started. After you've visited the following 'Bible' sections we encourage you to take a closer look at "What happened when you got saved!"
The Bible is God's Word. It's not just a religious text, or writings only a select few can understand. Think of it as your "new-life user manual spoken straight from God to you!"
Knowing this simple truth will help you get started right!
The Bible is also known as the "Word of God." God actually gave His words to people to write down so that we would have them to live by. His Spirit came upon these people empowering them to only write the words that God inspired them to write.
The Bible's integrity has been preserved supernaturally for thousands of years and is available for us today. When you read it, invite God to speak to you through it. His Spirit will cause the words on the pages to come alive to you. You may read a couple of passages and then all of a sudden one part hits you in the heart. It's like, it jumps off the page, and is so alive and full of meaning to you! This is God breathing on His words in order to speak to you. This is one way you hear His voice.
God's Word is full of all you need to win in life.
There's many translations taken from the original Hebrews/Greek/Aramaic texts. There are also paraphrases (these are bibles written in modern, easy-to-read styles) that are great for reading and spending time with God, alongside your main Bible. The Message Bible is a good example of a paraphrase.
Here are a few suggestions:
The King James Version (KJV) is the authorized version from 1611, that King James commissioned to be printed. The language has some old style words, such as thou, hearkeneth etc.
The New American Standard Bible (NASB) is a word-for-word based translation to the original manuscripts.
The Amplified Classic (AMPC) is a word-for-word based translation, that also uses parenthesis to help give fuller explanations of the text.
There are some Parallel Bibles, which would have two or four versions in one, for example the KJV and the AMPC. Or one with the AMPC, NASB, KJV, NIV. These are great for study.
