"...even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]." Colosians 3:13

Episode 01: Do I Have to Forgive Them?

LIPS: "Hello, Word of Mouth! You're on the line!"

CALLER: "So... do I really have to forgive someone who hasn't apologised?"

LIPS: "Ooh, now THAT'S a question! Let's see what the Word says..."

CALLER: "But they haven't even admitted they were wrong!"

LIPS: "And they might never! But here's the thing. Forgiveness isn't something you give because somebody earned it."

CALLER: "So I'm just supposed to pretend nothing happened?"

LIPS: "Whoa, whoa! Hold the phone! Forgiveness doesn't mean pretending it didn't happen. And it certainly doesn't mean giving someone permission to keep hurting you!"

CALLER: "Okay... so what DOES it mean?"

LIPS: "Colossians 3:13 says to forgive as Christ forgave you. You see, forgiveness is a decision you make before God, not a reward you give somebody for good behaviour!"

CALLER: "Even without an apology?"

LIPS: "Even without an apology! You can forgive someone and still have healthy boundaries."

CALLER: "Hmm. I've got some thinking to do."

LIPS: "And I've got another call! Remember, don't just take my word for it. Get in the Word!"
