Disclaimer: By no means exhaustive descriptions. Scripture doesn't tell us every detail about their appearance, personalities, or daily lives.
We did take some creative liberty with the profile pics!

Name meaning: Related to the Hebrew word for mankind and the ground.
Occupation: Gardener and caretaker of Eden; later worked the ground.
Family: Husband of Eve; father of Cain, Abel, Seth, and other sons and daughters.
Known for: Being the first man God created, naming the animals, and living in the Garden of Eden. And there's also the "Fall of Man".
Before he was famous: Adam didn't have parents, a childhood, or a hometown. God formed him from the dust of the ground and breathed into him the breath of life. Talk about a unique beginning! God was his family.
Not his finest hour: Adam disobeyed God's instruction concerning the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He enabled sin to enter the world and handed authority of rulership over to the devil. When God questioned him, Adam pointed to Eve, and even mentioned that God had given her to him!
Did you know? Adam was given responsibility before sin entered the world. Work wasn't part of the curse! God placed Adam in the Garden to dress and keep it.
One learning point: God created mankind for fellowship with Him and gave humanity responsibility and purpose. Adam's choices also remind us that disobedience has consequences beyond ourselves.
We also see that with all that happened God didn't stop talking with Adam, it just had to be different.

Name meaning: Associated with life or living.
Family: Wife of Adam; mother of Cain, Abel, Seth, and other children.
Known for: Being the first woman, created by God as a suitable helper for Adam, and being called the mother of all living.
Before she was famous: Eve had a rather unusual introduction to life! God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, took from his side, and made the first woman. Adam was delighted when he saw her.
Not her finest hour: Eve listened to the serpent's deception, ate from the forbidden tree, and gave the fruit to Adam, who also ate.
Did you know? Adam named his wife Eve after the Fall, because she was the mother of all living. Before that, she was called Woman.
Another interesting fact: Eve is the first woman recorded in Scripture as giving birth. When Cain was born, she acknowledged the Lord's help.
One learning point: God's Word is trustworthy, and we must be careful about accepting voices that contradict what He has said. Eve's story also shows that God's purposes for humanity continued even after the Fall.

Name meaning: His name is associated with acquiring or getting in Genesis 4:1.
Occupation: Farmer; worked the ground.
Family: Eldest recorded son of Adam and Eve; brother of Abel and Seth.
Known for: Bringing an offering to God that was not regarded with favour, becoming angry with his brother Abel, and eventually murdering him.
Before he was famous: Cain was the first recorded baby born into the world. His parents had never experienced childbirth or raising a child before. Everything was new!
Not his finest hour: Cain allowed anger and jealousy to take hold of him. Despite God's warning that sin was lying at the door and that he must rule over it, Cain killed his brother. The Bible doesn't say their ages at this point, (some say young and others say around 100, which is young for that period!)
Did you know? Cain built a city and named it after his son Enoch. This is the first city-building activity explicitly mentioned in Scripture.
Another interesting fact: God placed a mark on Cain to prevent others from killing him. The Bible never tells us exactly what that mark looked like.
One learning point: God warned Cain before he acted. We don't have to surrender to anger, jealousy, or destructive thoughts. Our response to correction matters.

Name meaning: Often associated with breath or vapour.
Occupation: Shepherd; keeper of sheep.
Family: Son of Adam and Eve; brother of Cain and Seth (post-death).
Known for: Bringing an offering to God that was accepted and being murdered by his brother Cain.
Before he was famous: Abel grew up in the very first family and became a shepherd. While his brother Cain worked the ground, Abel cared for the flocks.
His finest hour: Abel brought an offering from the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. Hebrews 11 tells us that Abel offered his sacrifice by faith.
Did you know? Abel is the first person recorded in the Bible as being murdered. Yet thousands of years later, Jesus still spoke about him and described him as righteous.
Another interesting fact: Hebrews 11:4 says that although Abel is dead, he still speaks through his faith. What a testimony!
One learning point: Faith matters to God. Abel's life reminds us that our relationship with God is not simply about outward actions, but about approaching Him in faith.

Name meaning: Appointed or placed.
Family: Son of Adam and Eve; brother of Cain and Abel (had died); father of Enos (Enosh).
Known for: Being born after Abel's death and becoming an ancestor of Noah and, eventually, Jesus Christ.
Before he was famous: Seth was born into a family that had experienced terrible tragedy. Abel had been murdered, and Cain had departed. Eve recognised Seth's birth as God's provision of another son in Abel's place.
Did you know? Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born, according to Genesis 5:3. Adam lived another 800 years after that!
Another interesting fact: Seth lived 912 years, according to Genesis 5:8.
His place in history: Seth's family line is traced through the generations to Noah in Genesis 5. Luke's genealogy of Jesus also includes Seth.
One learning point: Tragedy doesn't mean God's purposes have come to an end. Seth's story reminds us that God can bring new beginnings and that our lives can be part of something much bigger than we see.
