Are you an audio/visual learner, or maybe reading works better? The main point is that you can receive what God's Word says in a practical way that will help you change your life, live by His Kingdom ways, and get God's results.
And you'll probably find yourself taking a few notes and heading down some side quests of your own along the way!
Message begins approximately 1:24:00
The believer carries more than natural opinion. A life yielded to God can release words with spiritual substance, speak from the Word and the Spirit, and become a voice through which the Lord's heart is heard in the earth.
Pastor Paul uses the picture of resources within an earthen vessel and the timing of prayer to show that spiritual life is not mechanical. There is a God-given supply within the believer that must be released in step with Him.
"There's a sound within you."
Pastor Paul connects prayer for rulers with the need for voices that are shaped by God rather than merely by the surrounding culture. The distinction is not personality or volume, but spiritual substance.
"They're a different voice because they speak with a substance that other people that are not born again do not speak with."
The goal is not simply for a man’s or a woman's opinion to become louder. The believer's voice matters because it can become a vessel through which God's heart, wisdom, and Word are expressed.
"We don't need to hear a man's voice. We need to hear the voice of the Lord through the man, through the woman."
Knowledge is not given as a weapon for judging other people. Pastor Paul repeatedly brings the emphasis back to meekness, testimony, and fruit.
"If you have a revelation in healing, then let your life speak."
The tongue can be used to call up what God has placed within: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, and meekness. A Spirit-led voice is not only what is said publicly; it is also how a believer responds under pressure.
"We want to respond by the Holy Spirit. Respond in love."
THINK ABOUT IT
• What substance is shaping your voice most strongly right now?
• When you speak, are people mainly hearing your reaction, or can they hear the influence of the Word and the Holy Spirit?
• Does your life reinforce the message your words are communicating?
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
Before speaking into a situation, become conscious of the Spirit of God within you. Refuse empty opinion and reactive speech. Let the Word, prayer, love and the fruit of the Spirit shape both what you say and how you say it.
