Study Time

AUDIO | VISUAL | READING | NOTE TAKING | APPLICATION

Are you an audio/visual learner, or maybe reading works better? The main point is that you can receive what God's Word says in a practical way that will help you change your life, live by His Kingdom ways, and get God's results.

And you'll probably find yourself taking a few notes and heading down some side quests of your own along the way!

Staying Sharp In Chaotic Times

A Study Guide to Pastor Paul Brady's Message | 6PM Service  | 22 March 2026

Message begins approximately 1:02:03

MESSAGE SUMMARY

The world around you does not have to determine the condition of the world within you. God has given believers a spiritual posture that enables us to remain strong, focused, and spiritually sharp regardless of what is happening around us.

Key Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24

1. Rejoice Always

Joy is not based on circumstances. Joy is based on covenant. We see from the Bible that rejoicing produces stability. When circumstances change, your spiritual position does not have to change with them.

“Joy keeps your faith engine running.”

2. Pray Without Ceasing

Prayer is meant to become part of the rhythm of our lives. Live prayerfully. Stay God-conscious. When you

become distracted, return quickly to focus. Prayer can happen while you are driving, working, walking or sitting

quietly. Prayer becomes less of an event and more of a lifestyle. This does not negate spending purposeful

time in prayer, but rather emphasizes a lifestyle of prayer.

"Never abandoning a life of prayer."

"Return quickly to focus."

3. Give Thanks In Everything

Scripture does not tell us to give thanks for everything. It tells us to give thanks in everything. Circumstances do

not change your position. Thanksgiving becomes an expression of faith.

“Thanksgiving is proof that you believe beyond all shadow of a doubt that God’s still got this.”

4. Guard Your Heart From Offense

Pastor Paul shows us the connection between thanksgiving with keeping the heart free from offense. Mark 11

teaches faith that moves mountains, but Jesus also immediately addresses forgiveness. Do not allow offense to

block the very faith you are trying to exercise.

"The persistence of covenant prayer."

THINK ABOUT IT

• Is there something I need to release?

• Am I rehearsing what someone did, or am I protecting my heart?

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

Rejoice. Pray. Give thanks. When distracted, return quickly to focus. Do not allow chaotic circumstances to create a chaotic spiritual life.
