What is prayer's role in preparing my future?

Prayer will prepare you, and prayer will prepare everything that is needed and necessary for your days ahead. As you pray in the spirit, you are agreeing with God's plan for your life. You are enforcing His plan and saying "Yes" to it!

Prayer builds a track for your train to run on.

Prayer will take the bumps out of the road.

Related Scriptures: Ephesians 6:18; Proverbs 3:5–6; Isaiah 45:2

What happens when I pray?

Prayer actually changes us. Prayer changes the one who prays. Prayer is our access to the Throne. Prayer is never our last resort.

Prayer is where sons and daughters of the Lord exercise their covenant rights.

Related Scriptures: Hebrews 4:16; James 5:16–18; Luke 18:1

Why should prayer be more than a last resort?

Prayer is part of our communication with God. It is partnership with Heaven. You have an invitation to cooperate with God for His purposes on the earth (through you).

Why would we not pray first, and pray always?

Prayer is where sons and daughters of the Lord exercise their covenant rights, and welcome His workings in their lives.

Related Scriptures: Matthew 6:10; Hebrews 4:16; 1 Timothy 2:1–4

Is prayer supposed to produce something?

In the Bible, there was a prophet called Elijah. He did some big things for God. One time as he was following God's orders, he commanded the clouds to stop raining, and it stopped raining for three years. Until he prayed for the rain to start again. Another time, he called fire down from heaven. It might seem like his life is unrelatable, but the Bible tells us that Elijah was just like us!

It is God's intent that what we pray produces power. The point is that we are able to work with God too! The same portion of scriptures shows us that the heartfelt prayers of a righteous man or woman make tremendous power available, dynamic in its workings.

Related Scriptures: James 5:16–18; Acts 4:31; John 15:7

What does “prayer builds a track for your train” mean?

Pastor Paul uses this picture to explain that as we pray we are connecting with and establishing God's plan for us on earth. Prayer helps take the bumps out of the road. It's part of how we receive His will, and agree with it. Prayer helps make the journey smoother because as we pray, God can work on our behalf.

Can prayer change how I feel about somebody?

It is impossible to pray for an individual and not end up loving them.

Prayer changes the one who prays and helps you see people the way God sees them.

Related Scriptures: Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:27–28; 1 Timothy 2:1
